Thing is, though, I think GM EU can live by itself. It doesn’t need Peugeot-Citroen. Why?

If that happens, i’m going to be very concerned about Holden

Maybe they will be paired up with Buick instead... expect more crossovers.

I don’t really see it. To be honest I expect the PSA/GM partnership to end before the end of the decade.

They haven’t made a profit since 2000. How much of that is a real loss and not just from shuffling money around GM I don’t know. They sell a lot of cars, but there’s a lot of fleet sales padding the numbers.

There’s been talk of platform sharing or some kind of co operation before. Several other makers looked into buying GM Europe but ran when they saw the figures.

My guess is that they are making more money with the Chinese rather than Europe where it it takes a lot more cost designing a good platform and cars to compete in that market compared to the Chinese or American market where they can recycle more and make more profit. Honestly I only see the good part of GM in Opel/Vauxhall in terms of quality, all the other brands are a step below.

Doesn’t Holden already have one foot in the grave at this point?
